Who goes to the Olive Garden just for their breadsticks??? Now you don’t have to… and you’ll probably end up thinking these are better!!! They take just a lil over an hour from start to finish… I whipped up a Spaghetti dinner while I was working on these… Everything came together all at the same time and we ended up have a great dinner with no complaints!
Homemade Breadsticks
Ingredients:
- 4 1/2 cups flour
- 2 1/2 tsp yeast
- 2 TBLS sugar
- 2 TBLS softened butter
- 1 TBLS salt
- 1 1/3 cups warm water 110-120 degrees
- Optional:
- 2-3 TBLS butter
- minced garlic
- oregano
- basil
Steps:
- Add 2 TBLS sugar to your mixing bowl…
Add 1 1/3 cups warm water and dissolve sugar…
Sprinkle 2 1/2 tsp yeast and let set for 5 mins - Add 2 TBLS softened butter, 1 TBLS salt and 2 cups flour… Mix
- Switch to your dough hook and add the remaining 2 1/2 cups flour…
Turn on low and let dough come together… about 3-5 mins - Should be pulling away from the sides and forming a ball
- Pull dough out to floured surface and kneed by hand for about 5 mins
- Roll out evenly about 2 feet long
- Cut in half… Now cut one side in half… and make four cuts off each half
- repeat till you get 16 pieces
- Roll into ball
- Then into a log about 6 inches long
- Repeat and place on greased baking sheet
- Cover with saran wrap…
Place in a draft free warm place and let rise for about 30-40 mins - While they are baking I took 2-3 TBLS butter… melted it down… added minced garlic, oregano and basil

425 degrees for about 15-18 mins - Right as the breadsticks come out hit them with the butter mixture!
