Homemade Hand-Cut French Fries

Have you ever tried to make homemade french fries and they turn out under-cooked or super greasy?!  Try this recipe… there are 2 tricks to making these super yummy!  Then compare the price of a bag of frozen french fries you’d get at the grocery store to a couple potatoes it takes to make these… Pennies on the $$$!!!

Here is what you’ll need:

  • 4 potatoes (that served 6 of us)
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt
Cut up your potatoes and place them in a bowl of water with a few ice cubes... That "trick" #1  Let them soak a minimum of 30 minutes

Strain out the water and rinse them off... you'll see all the starch it pull out of the potatoes!

Heat up your oil... On med-high and bloat dry your potatoes with a paper towel

Test your temp with a fry or two

Fry them for about 3-5 mins till they just start to turn color

Pull them out and continue with the rest... When you pull the first batch out give the oil a minute to pull it back up to temp before you drop the next batch!

Can you see the difference?!   Now just salt them to taste and you have your homemade French Fries!
